If anybody has upgrade issues with streams, you may need to

cp htaccess.dist .htaccess

to get your site back. Apologies - there was literally no other way to do this.

I'm guessing this only applies to Apache users?

I can confirm:
runing update resulted in a white apache error page.
ssh in and run cp htaccess.dist .htaccess fixes the issue.
