Tried installing Streams, but it looks like it needs php version 8. I am on Debian stable with php version 7.4, and I am not confident that I want to try to move the requisite mountains to try to increase the version.

I'm sympathetic but 7.4 is end of life on November 28 (just under 2 months from now). I had the time some months ago (whilst unemployed) to try bring the code base up to some modern standards, as the entire server tech stack has evolved dramatically in the last 5 years. This was no small feat and a rare opportunity; so I took it.
